Water baptism is the way we identify with the life, death and resurrection of Jesus; it’s an act of faith that says we are putting our faith and trust in Jesus and desire to live in the new creation reality He has begun. We practice the complete immersion in water.
We believe that Jesus set the example for baptism and that baptism is an important YES that we get to say with our actions.

Water baptism takes place at the end of our regular Sunday morning service in the auditorium.
We believe that baptism is a personal statement of faith, not a family tradition. However, if each family member understands fully the meaning of baptism, and each one has personally placed his/her trust in Christ for salvation, we welcome families to be baptized at the same time.
Pants / shorts and a dark t-shirt are recommended. Other items are fine as long as the clothes are not revealing when wet. Make sure to bring a change of clothes + towel with you for afterwards!
We believe that there is power in each sharing our stories of how Jesus has changed our life. You will be given to opportunity to give a brief video testimony, but the choice is yours.
At the baptismal service you will be asked you if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. You will then be briefly lowered into the water, afterwards you may leave the water, dry off, and watch the others. Later you will be mailed a certificate of your baptism. We encourage you to invite all your relatives and friends to attend your baptism. Other than stating publicly that you have accepted Christ you are not required to say anything.
At City Life Church we wait until our children are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them. There isn't an age limit on this, but we do have a list of questions we can provide for parents to help determine if they're ready to make that confession of faith. We also need parental permisison for anyone under 18 to be baptized. The form is available at cty.lc/baptismpermission
We practice Child Dedication for children too young to make their own decision. This is a covenant between the parents & God, promising to raise their child in the faith until the child is old enough to make his/her own personal confession of Christ. If this is something you're interested in please check out cty.lc/dedication
Maybe you were baptized as a baby, or earlier in your life and feel like you would like to make a personal declaration of your faith, or a re-dedication of your life to Christ. In either of these cases, we welcome you to participate in baptism again. However we do not feel multiple baptisms are necessary.
