UNITY
“We believe one of the greatest expressions the Church is called to reflect to the world is our unity; it is the very nature of God. Jesus prayed, “that they will all be one, just as You and I are one…May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that You sent Me and that You love them as much as You love Me.” (John 17:21-23).
In a society where polarization and individualism are quickly eroding our communal bonds, we believe as the church embraces and models a spirit of unity and togetherness, we can become God’s healing presence over the fear, anxiety, anger, and isolation crippling in our world.

 

While society advocates for counterfeit unity through same-ness, biblical unity is about harmony, different parts coming together because of and for a common purpose. We can live this out practically by seeking to understand over the need to be understood; listening to learn over holding to opinions and ideologies; being honoring towards others including churches, ministries, and groups we may not understand, agree with, or even those who have hurt us.

 

We will never have perfect agreement on doctrine, theology, or practices; however we can come together in humility, love and grace around the *essentials of Jesus Christ, who He is and what He has done for us, and in doing so we can reveal the heart of a God Who came and united Himself to humanity when we were at our worst.”
